[News] GTV Presents the Leads of Absolute Darling Gu Hye Sun and Jiro Wang to the Media.

[News] GTV Presents the Leads of Absolute Darling Gu Hye Sun and Jiro Wang to the Media.

GTV confirmed the news today in a small press conference, and trotted out lead actors Gu Hye Sun and, no surprise here, Jiro Wang.

GTV are still furious at Wu Zun, and showered praise upon praise for Jiro’s loyalty and willingness to accept the project on such short notice. Both Jiro and Hye Sun discussed how they were confident that the scripts were excellent and believe in the quality of this drama.

The second leads for AD are supposedly Penny Xie (Xie Kun Da) of the boyband Energy and Cherry Hsia. As for Wu Zun dropping out, people drop of acting projects on a regular basis, It’s not like he dropped AD to do another drama anytime soon.

However, Wu Zun drop AD pretty much means he burned his bridges with GTV and the producer of AD, who really helped vault Zun to stardom by casting him in his drama productions of Tokyo Juliet, Romantic Princess, and TW-HanaKimi.

[News] Super Junior Donghae and Siwon shoots drama in Taiwan.

[News] Super Junior Donghae and Siwon shoots drama in Taiwan.
Cr. - 10asia

Super Junior members Donghae and Siwon have been busy shooting their drama in Taiwan, according to their agency SM Entertainment.

On Tuesday, SM announced in a press release that the two idol stars who have been cast as the male leads in Taiwanese drama "Extravagant Challenge" began shooting the series in mid-April.

Siwon portrays the role of talented top actor Don Ha-ryeon while Donghae plays the musically-talented self-centered playboy Bul Pa-sang in "Extravagant Challenge," an adaptation of the popular Japanese manga “Skip Beat.”

"Extravagant Challenge," scheduled to air on Taiwan's GTV later this year, is helmed by famed producer Doze Niu and also stars Chinese actress Ivy Chen and Taiwanese actress Bianca Bai.

In early April, Donghae and Siwon attended the press conference for the show alongside Doze Niu, Ivy Chen and Bianca Bai and held their first script reading for the upcoming series.

Meanwhile, the group has been dominating Taiwan's KKBOX's music chart for 49 consecutive weeks with their title track "BONAMANA" from their fourth full-length album of the same name and have performed in front of 30,000 fans during their "SUPER SHOW 3" in Taiwan in March.

The two singers made their debut in the 13-member boy band Super Junior in 2005, releasing their first album "SuperJunior05" and has since produced numerous hit songs such as “Sorry, Sorry,” “It’s You,” “Rukkugo” and “BONAMANA.”

Donghae and Siwon have expanded their careers into acting, starring in SBS' Monday and Tuesday drama "I'm Ok, Daddy" and "Oh! My Lady" and "Athena," respectively.

[News] Xiao Xiao Bin Nabs Another F4 Daddy by Starring as Vic Zhou’s Son in Destiny’s Pair.

[News] Xiao Xiao Bin Nabs Another F4 Daddy by Starring as Vic Zhou’s Son in Destiny’s Pair.
Cr. - koalasplayground

In addition to being Taiwan’s child actor du jour, Xiao Xiao Bin shall henceforth also be known as “the exclusive child to F4”. Having already played Vanness Wu’s son in Autumn’s Concerto, as well as Jerry Yan’s nephew in Down with Love, the much-too-adorable kid is adding a third F4 daddy to his resume (the most coveted F4 daddy if you ask me) by starring as Vic Zhou’s son in the upcoming TW-movie Destiny’s Pair. He only needs Ken Zhu to complete his F4 daddy collection.

I posted about this movie likely going into production later this year because lead actress Ella Chen’s upcoming movie with Mike He called Bad Girl was going into production in the Summer. Well, it looks like Taiwan in fast-tracking both movies, and Ella can kiss her beauty sleep goodbye for the next four months. Bad Girl purportedly starts filming at the end of April, aiming for a Summer release, and thereafter Ella will go straight into filming Destiny’s Pair in late May, once Vic wraps his movie with Valen Hsu which is currently filming in Beijing.

Xiao Xiao Bin is so so cute, and I can’t wait to see him playing a precocious son to daddy Vic. Which does remind me that seeing my favorite actors playing alongside small children as their pretend daddy always make me squeal with delight. Mike’s turn as a daddy in Sunny Happiness totally upped his awesome factor by like a billion. Truth be told, I don’t know how some of these actors do it – the TW-entertainment industry is in such over drive these days, I can barely keep up with the new projects sprouting left and righ.

[News] Taiwan drama 'Absolute Boyfriend' Jiro picking up after Wu Chun?

[News] Taiwan drama 'Absolute Boyfriend' Jiro picking up after Wu Chun?
Original - http://twssg.blogspot.com/

Wu Chun unceremoniously dropped out of 'Absolute Boyfriend' for other pursuits and left the crew scrambling to find a new male lead. Now, there is news floating around that the replacement will be none other than Chun's bandmate, Jiro Wang.

This drama adaptation of the manga Zettai Kareshi, co-starring Gu Hye Sun. Apparently GTV is furious, but Wu Zun’s publicist lays the blame on the repeated delays by GTV to start production, as well as a consideration that Wu Zun wasn’t right for the role of the perfect robot boyfriend. Word on the street is that GTV is hoping Jiro Wang will step in for Wu Zun, and I’m of a mixed feeling about that.

Nothing has been confirmed yet and Jiro's management has been stating that Jiro is still concentrating on his mainland movie, 紫宅 (roughly Purple House), and has not thought about his plans afterwards. But nothing has been denied either, so perhaps Jiro will be picking up the baton for Chun.

[Photo & News] Rainie Yang, Joseph Chang, Tiffany Hsu, and Kingone Wang, 'Drunken to Love You' Holds Press Conference for its Weekend Premiere.
Cr. - koalasplayground

It’s finally here! This coming Sunday SETTV will premiere Drunken to Love You with Rainie Yang, Joseph Chang, Tiffany Hsu, and Kingone Wang, and the entire cast was trotted out for the obligatory press conference yesterday. I don’t know if everyone swallowed pretty pills, or I’m wearing a pair of rose-tinted glasses, but wow does the main cast look great, especially Rainie and Kingone.

Rainie is so fresh and darling I want to cuddle her cuz she’s so cute, but it’s Kingone that made me do a double take. He definitely lost weight, but beyond that, he’s maturing so confidently it gives him this added charm that I’ve not seen until now. Frankly, there hasn’t been a single promo item from 'Drunken to Love You' that I haven’t loved. This drama is pushing all my right buttons.

[Photo & News] Mike He and Janine Chang Attend a Fan Meeting in Taipei for Sunny Happiness.

[Photo & News] Mike He and Janine Chang Attend a Fan Meeting in Taipei for 'Sunny Happiness'.
Cr. - koalasplayground

'Sunny Happiness', currently no.1 Sunday night TW-drama, isn’t about to take its rating’s crown for granted. Mike He and Janine Chang attended a Sunny Happiness fan meeting yesterday, which coincidentally was the night before the premiere of Drunken to Love You. When asked if he was worried about the upcoming competition, Mike pooh-poohed any such worry, saying that 'Drunken to Love You' was just another bridge 'Sunny Happiness' has to cross.

Good answer, Mike, and you know how much I love 'Sunny Happiness', but excuse for moment while I whisper something off to the side. Anyways, back to my beloved Yong Yong and Yun Jie – don’t they look gorgeous together still? Sigh, 'Sunny Happiness' is perfection from beginning to end, and I’m still pinching myself this drama came along to reinvigorate my faith in Taiwan dramas again.

While Janine is glowing, her zebra-ran-into-a-bumble-bee-crossed-with-a-muu-muu outfit is about the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen on her. The fact she still looks great speaks volumes about her natural beauty. And Mike’s outfit is just a giant FAIL. Ugh, I cannot even critique it, but at least from the neck up it’s all handsome Mike all the way.

While I would love for 'Sunny Happiness' to remain no.1 during its entire run, my gut tells me that it’s about to lose its ratings crown soon, if not already. 'Drunken to Love You' is special. I’m not trying to be coy, if I start talking about episode 1 of 'Drunken to Love You' right now I won’t be able to stop, and this is a 'Sunny Happiness' post devoted to my perfect OTP of Yun Jie and Yong Yong.

[News] Jerry Yan and Terri Kwan Rumoured to Be Dating.

[News] Jerry Yan and Terri Kwan Rumoured to Be Dating.
Cr. - .asianbite

In 2009, Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan and actress Terri Kwan worked together on the drama Starlit and was later rumoured to be dating each other. However, the pair always maintained that they were nothing more than friends.

Recently, a Taiwanese tabloid revealed that the celebs were actually dating each other.

According to the source, Jerry and Terri had been dating in secret for the past two years and despite the frequent quarrels, the couple did not break up.

It is known that rumours of the two celebs began after Terri was spotted going to Jerry's place two years ago. In November that same year, the two was said to have toured Sumerian Island together.

Last year, Terri said that "it was an old rumour" and described her relationship with Jerry as a "human and ghost" one.

However, the tabloid refuted that Terri once revealed her views on love and said she hopes to date in secret and intends to get married suddenly without her parents' knowledge.

When interviewed, Jerry's management expressed that it is normal for celebs to be meeting each other. The company will not interfere and hopes that the public will stop speculating.

Terri's manager replied that the company will not interfere on their artistes' personal relationships and is unsure of Terri's relationship status now. The manager added that Terri and Jerry are friends and it is usual for the two to keep in contact.

[News] Wu Chun drops out of both his upcoming series and remains without contract.

[News] Wu Chun drops out of both his upcoming series and remains without contract.
Cr. - Nownews

It's recently been revealed that Wu Chun's contracts with HIM and Comic had expired at the end of last year and there are no signs of him renewing the contracts after two months. He has stated before that the reason he would stop singing would be for his father. While there have still been promotions for a Fahrenheit album release, all the work Wu Chun has done for it was merely to fill the last of the requirements of his contract.

It has also been leaked that Wu Chun has dropped out of both his upcoming series (Absolute Boyfriend) and movie (Summer Holiday 2) leading to many speculations of him preparing to leave the entertainment industry. As of present, Wu Chun has expressed when interviewed that he has thought about leaving. For his fans, though, he will not depart rashly. However, he will not be putting his whole heart into the entertainment industry in the future.

In the five years he has been in showbiz, Wu Chun has only been able to take a vacation on New Year each year. This has been making him feel ashamed at the neglect over his own family and has previously been made to think about working less and spending more time taking care of his father. Wu Chun's father also hoped that his son did not have to work so hard and go back to Brunei to led a simple life. Thus, at the end of his contract last year, Wu Chun moved back to Brunei, and has been there since.

On February 13th, the third branch of Wu Chun's fitness gym opened and when he was interviewed then, he finally revealed what he was truly thinking. "I have always said that if I was happy doing what I did, then I would continue. If I wasn't happy, I would return to Brunei. Everyone knows that the entertainment industry isn't the only thing I partake in. The company has discussed renewing the contact with me, but I have not made a decision on my future yet, so I've been pushing it off."

Wu Chun also emphasized that Brunei is his true home. Seeing how happy he was at being home, he was asked whether he really hadn't thought about leaving the industry to which he answered, "I do want to a little because I really miss my family. Since coming back home, I have been very happy, but also feel a bit guilty because I didn't take good care of my father in the past and wasn't able to accompany him to the doctors for his back and legs."

Thinking about the past five years, he said, "I originally had a pretty good life, but I also had a sense of accomplishment when living a life where I could take care of myself. At the same time, that satisfaction was cut in half. The half I lost was spending time with my family and my freedom. I actually don't have much confidence in my acting, most of the force that pushed me was from my fans, so I won't speak of quitting so easily. I will continue working, but I require a lot of freedom and will only take on jobs I like." Regarding work in the entertainment industry, he said, "It requires sacrifice. I really cherish everything that I learned each day while working. It will be helpful in all the decisions I make in the future. Even if it will be hard, I will face everything with a positive attitude."

Could this really be the end of Fahrenheit?

Wu Chun states reasons for dropping out of drama, surprising and angering people.

As most know the Taiwanese rendition of "Absolute Boyfriend" was originally suppose to star Wu Chun and Goo Hye Sun. While Goo Hye Sun is still attached, Chun has dropped out and the drama is once again in limbo and are still searching for their male lead. One speculation is that Chun is clearing out his schedule for his big break into the movie industry.

According to Chun's manager, he had dropped out not because he doesn't want to act. It's because the script isn't good yet. We have no clue when they will start filming and there is no set broadcast date. We are dropping out right now because we are worried that the schedule will not fit well (with Chun's movie)."

Though nothing is completely set in stone yet, there have been reports that GTV has been keyed up over the fact that he will drop out and rumors say that they might be looking towards the law. Since GTV has been cultivating Chun all this time, many have been surprised by what is happening on both sides.

When the producer was asked about this situation, he showed a bit of anger saying, "Why doesn't he want to act? There are many reasons, but using the script is not right. Everyone has already said they would act already, and if he was dissatisfied with the script, then we can change it so that he is satisfied with it."

[News] SuJu’s Choi Si Won and Donghae to begin filming for their Taiwanese drama.

[News] SuJu’s Choi Si Won and Donghae to begin filming for their Taiwanese drama.
Cr. - allkpop

After making an announcement almost two years ago, Taiwanese cable station ‘Gala Television‘ (GTV) has confirmed that filming for their new drama, “Glamorous Challenge“, will commence on March 31st! The Taiwanese drama attracted international ELF attention after it was revealed that Super Junior members Donghae and Choi Si Won were casted for it.

Since it’s been put on the backburner for two years, most of the original cast and director have left the production. But thankfully, Si Won and Donghae are still in it and they will be acting alongside Taiwanese actresses, Ivy Chen Yi Han (陳意涵) and Bianca Bai Xin Hui (白歆惠).

Niu Cheng Ze (鈕承澤) who was to have directed the drama, now becomes the producer while Feng Jia Rui (馮家瑞) will take over the director’s seat.

Despite their top A-list billing, both of them have asked to be treated like everyone else. Though they’ll be staying in Taiwan for four months, they haven’t asked for any special requests, like staying in hotels and extra security.

“Glamorous Challenge” is a live-action adaptation of a Japanese manga called “Skip Beat“, and it’s about a girl who gets betrayed by her long-time boyfriend. In an attempt to get revenge, she debuts as a celebrity; the storyline unfolds with various romantic adventures and hijinks.

No word yet on when the drama will be aired.
