[News] Cast for new MBC drama "Can You Hear My Heart".

[World News] "A director who never talks about dramas one day asks me what I'm doing this New Year, so I said I'll be with my family. Then he tells me to tell me family I'm going to be in a drama. As soon I delievered the good news, my mother cried for half an hour because she was so happy".

After the drama "Hwangjin-i" in 2006, actor Kim Jae-won returns to home screens in 5 years. The new project is MBC's "Can You Hear my Heart" first being broadcasted on the 2nd. Kim Jae-won is Cha Dong-joo, a rich boy lacking nothing but becomes deaf due to an unfortunate accident.

At the drama presentation in Seoul on the 30th, Kim Jae-won spoke about the days he was so far away from the audience because of going out to China and army matters. He finished his service as a solider in November last year but before that he hasn't been around nationally because of overseas schedules.

Like his mother's tears would've said, Kim Jae-won showed pity by saying, "As much as I wasn't active, I think the fans would've had a hard time too. I need to be active for my fans to be strong and felt supported".

When he was asked about the pressure he was going through since it was his first project in 5 years, he said, "I'm better than I thought", with this killer smile. Rather than the absence, he seemed more concerned about the role he had to play, not revealing the truth about his deafness. Saying he had collected all the materials related to deafness in the country, he also said he got to understand deaf people more.

About his military service, "I am going to erase everything about my military life" he said playfully. "I learnt a lot, but not everything was good. It wasn't easy living as a group but I think I gained a lot of patience while I was there". When he was asked if the title "pretty boy" would enclose his variety of acting roles, he said "A brand has its own barrier and if that brand keeps changing then that's just losing what you are. I don't plan on changing the image my fans have given me".
